As a player i want to remain competitive in the pvp world, but the celestial tournament has seriously dented my chances of getting into good guilds

. Being that iam 15 and you have to be 16 to enter every guild i apply for has turned me down. now this first has made me remain in a state of no gvg

and gvg is like crack for me i need it. second iam disgruntled cause i see no reason for this rule if anyone can answer my question it would be greatly appreciated.

Legal reasons. They can't let younger people enter with real prizes on the line if they're below a certain age, or something.

But, seriously like Wasteland Squidget said, it's entirely for legal reasons. There is no point trying to change it because you wont.

You can play in the tournament if you are under 16. You just can't claim the prizes. If you really care that much about the prizes, then tough. There's nothing you can do. If you don't expect to get first or second place, then go ahead and play and don't worry about the age restriction.

I can kinda confirm that, we have a lad in our guild who won't be participating because he's too young. Otherwise, listen to Tommy...

I seriously doubt that Anet cares what age the people who are participating in the tournament are. We are all customers and we all are all the same age in-game. If you want to be on a casual team that doesn't expect to get top 2, you can easily just lie about your age or play on someone else's account. Hell, even if you want to finish in the top 2, you can do the same, just don't expect you to be one of the 8 that gets the prizes. It wouldn't make sense for Anet to care who plays in the tournament in-game. The only issue is distributing the prizes irl.

Technically Anet could ban you for lying but I really doubt they would do that. Most likely you just wouldn't receive a prize for winning, assuming you come in a high enough place to get a prize

If you're under 16 and expecting to win prizes, just submit your parent's information. Other than by voice (which can be gotten around pretty easily), they really have no way of proving that its a kid thats playing. They probably don't care enough to check up on it anyway.

Yea, u wont be able to claim your prises but so what, chances are if your not older your team wont be winning anyways because you have extremely young players that would have started the game at age 13 and under if there not 16 yet.... so they wont be winning any prises anyway

You're forgetting the ones that are 15 years old, and are only half a year younger than the ones that are 16.

Besides, what's wrong with having lots of 13 year olds running around? Easy wins!

Its also illegal in most places to jaywalk, that doesn't mean cops are going to start randomly dishing out tickets to every jay walkers.

Anet needs to cover their ass legally by not giving out prizes to 16 year olds nor allowing them to complete. That said, would Anet go out of their way to find out if a 15 yo was playing? Hell no. Its horrible PR.
